Help Us Help Parents and Babies

We need your support to continue helping breastfeeding families and babies! Though we happily volunteer our time as Leaders, our nonprofit organization depends on donations to
  • carry out mission-based projects and events that serve breastfeeding families like yours
  • reach parents in need by providing free pamphlets and handouts posted throughout our community
  • offer continuing education to our Leaders so that we can share accurate, up-to-date information on breastfeeding research
  • ensure that free breastfeeding support will continue to be available for future parents
"I began attending meetups several months before my second son was born. At the time, I had no idea how much I would come to rely on the group for support. They helped me navigate not only a myriad of 'normal' breastfeeding speed bumps and pitfalls, but also my newborn's serious medical issue. At the time, I felt like I was failing my son and I was frustrated beyond belief, but there was never any judgement from the group when I admitted to supplementing with formula through an SNS and bottle. Looking back, I can honestly say that these women were my lifeline to breastfeeding. The group's support, suggestions, and sympathy bolstered me and I was eventually able to transition him away from formula and continue to breastfeed.

Without La Leche League, I don't believe I would have continued breastfeeding him more than a few months. The group provided me with the positive reinforcement I desperately needed during a difficult time, and I am so very grateful. Because of these women, I am still nursing my son several times a day and night, and while the nighttime popping on and off can be very annoying at 2 a.m., I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I continue to attend meetups because I want to be a supportive, sympathetic, knowledgeable resource to moms who are struggling like I once was. I'm able to share all that I have learned and continue to learn, and I'm able to embrace new members of the group. By making these moms feel comfortable, my hope is that they will be confident enough to ask for help, because asking for help is the first step to getting the support they need."  - Mom of 3
